BLS and Heartsaver CPR/AED Instructor Course: 6-7 hours
There are two pre-requisites to attend the Instructor Course.  You must first have a
current CPR/AED card that has covered adult, child, and infant skills.  This card can
be either the BLS for Healthcare Providers CPR/AED card or a Heartsaver CPR/AED
card.  You will also need to complete a portion of the course on your own called the
Core Instructor Course (CIC).  This is a 4-6 hour self-directed course you will complete
on your computer.  Once you have completed the CIC and the 6-7 hour classroom
course, you will need to be monitored teaching a course by a current AHA Instructor
within 60-days.  Registration for the course will include the CIC Manual and will be
shipped to you within 5 business days of receiving your order.  Payment for the
course does not include teaching materials such as videos and books.  The cost of
teaching supplies can be determined at the class and can range from $150 to $250.
BLS for Healthcare Providers Renewal Course: 3 hours
If you have a current Healthcare Provider CPR/AED card due to expire or not
more than 60-days expired, you can register for the Renewal Course.
Heartsaver First Aid Instructor Course: 3.5 hours
The BLS & Heartsaver CPR/AED Instructor Course is a pre-requisite to attend the
Heartsaver First Aid Instructor Course.  The course will provide you with all the
information to facilitate the Heartsaver First Aid Course and the Heartsaver Pediatric
First Aid Course.
BLS and Heartsaver Instructor Renewal Course: 2 hours
You must renew your Instructor card within the month you expire.  If you have
taught at least 4 CPR classes since your last Instructor class or Instructor
Renewal class, you are eligible to attend an Instructor Renewal class.  There is
no grace period for Instructor renewals.  If you don't renew within the month you
expire, you will have to start over by taking a New Instructor Course.
