The American Heart Association BLS Provider CPR AED Initial and Renewal courses are video-based and instructor-led courses that are designed for healthcare professionals and first responders who need to know how to perform CPR skills. The American Heart Association's BLS Provider CPR AED Initial course is a video-based and instructor-led courses that is designed for healthcare professionals and first responders who need to know how to perform CPR skills on adults, children and infants. Additional skills that will be taught include ventilation with a barrier device and a bag-mask device, the use of an automated external defibrillator (AED), and relief of an airway obstruction.

You can register for the BLS Provider CPR and AED Renewal course, if you have a current BLS Provider card that has not expired. The AHA does offer a 60 day grace period to register for a BLS renewal even if your card has expired.
